Discover your wild side on KTC’s Monsoon Expedition Trip- a 4-day journey traversing the untamed Sahyadri hills, the foothills, and the coast in Sindhudurg, Maharashtra! This isn’t your usual hill station getaway. It’s a deep dive into Konkan’s monsoon soul — untamed, grounding, and full of heart. 

The Western Ghats have been around since the continents split some 150 Million years ago. It is thriving with stunning wildlife, waterfalls, & rivers of incomparable beauty.     Finding the right transport? That’s on us. Whether you're joining from Pune, Mumbai, Hyderabad, or Bangalore, we’ll sort out the most comfortable option so you can just show up and enjoy the experience. Departures are scheduled for the evening before the trip begins to ensure a relaxed start to your adventure.

    Day 1 | Stay in The Hills

    In the heart of Amboli, Swyambhu Homestay is an excellent comfort stay. The warm hosts serve amazing traditional malvani homefood. Amboli with its altitude of 2264 Ft is the last hillstation before the coastal highlands of Konkan. 

     + Pick-up & Road Trip in the Ghats

     + Pitstop at a Roadside Hotel to freshen up and breakfast.

     + Stop at Famed Amboli Waterfalls! Amidst the Amboli ghat & overlooking the Valley, amboli waterfall is everyone's go-to falls.

     + Hidden Plunge Pool Waterfall: The Hidden Plunge Pool Waterfall is a mesmerizing natural spectacle that showcases a cascade of small waterfalls gracefully descending along a gushing river. This enchanting sight captivates the senses as the water plunges from one level to another, creating a symphony of soothing sounds and an ethereal mist that dances through the air.

    Day 2 | Explore the Foothills

    In a literal embrace of the nature- this wildlife field station will rekindle your sense of awe! Its situated right in the foothills in a dense forest surrounded by Waterfalls, a grand river and all kinds of wildlife. You have to cross a hanging bridge to get to the stay!
    Plus, you might meet wildlife researchers and fellow nature lovers at this stay.

     + Road-trip to Wildlife Field Station. We shall be received by the Field Station Manager for an offbeat Jeep ride from entry-point till the Field station in the Deep Forest.

     + Cross a hanging bridge across the river to get to the Stay!

     + Across-the-Jungle Waterfall Trek with the Field Station Manager. Choose to go on a rugged mountainside hike across the jungle or take a relaxing dip into the stream in the forest.

     + Time for a piping hot Lunch with a gushing river & Hill side view

     + Stay has hotspots for birding enthusiasts & also a panoramic terrace to spend time.

     + Relax and explore the riverside Stay location. Western Ghat rivers have been flowing for centuries carving unique geological patterns like potholes, river pools, waterfalls & more..

    Day 3 | Play by The Beach

    The tropical beachside hits different after spending 2 days in the Hills. It is now time to experience the warmth of beachside hospitality and tune into the local life by the shore!

    + Tea-Breakfast at Field Station

    + Explore the Stay and the wildlife one last time before we check out!

    + Secret Cave Waterfall Trail: This seasonal cave waterfall, hidden in the lovely Western Ghat foothills, will just be the rejuvenating experience you've been looking for this rainy season! You may let your inner Tarzan out (with caution) among the dangling vines- and forget all about the worldly woes for a while, no?

    + Road-Trip to the Beachside Homestay

    + Explore the Beach near Homestay at your leisure. The extensive beach is a great chilling spot.

     + Tropical Waterfall in the Jungle: Tucked away amidst a lush forest, an exquisite surprise awaits—a hidden waterfall. Splash in the waterfall in the jungle close to the beachside!  

     + Kondura Hidden Beach Trail : Sunset at the picturesque Kondura Beach. A seasonal brook meets the ocean at this beach- surrounded by huge coco trees and mountain slopes on either side, Kondura Beach is a hidden paradise!

     + Walk through the Local Market to grab regional items from the Monsoon Bajar
     + Authentic Malvani Traditional Fish/Veg Lunch at Homestay

1. Please confirm bookings in advance to prevent loss of stays. Especially in rush months between Nov to Mar.
2. Please carry water bottles and avoid buying packaged water if possible.
3. Do not consume intoxicating substances in the Village area and public places.
4. Please let us know if you wish to increase the budget or do cost-cutting. Your budget affects stays and activities involved. KTC convenience charge remains the same irrespective of the budget.

What is KTC? How does it work?

At KTC- we design tours, excursions, and camps in Konkan. Our catalog is continually being upgraded to include all range of stays and unique experiences in the region.

Our tours adapt to include the seasonal variety that each season has to offer. We pride upon the authentic Malvani cuisine, local hospitality, the comfort of homestays in our curated unique itineraries. We are a tourism company, but we are also more, as we are working to build a community whose connections exceed far beyond travel.

What is the best way to travel with KTC?

We mostly travel in our free time but with the kind of experiences we offer and to truly experience the beauty of Konkan, we would recommend freeing your time to travel with us. We offer weekend getaways as well as curated long tours.

Pre-designed tours are released but we primarily engage in private tours for groups. The best way to travel with us is to curate a trip for your group. Currently, all our experiences are available at throwaway prices for a time now.

Which is the best season to travel in Konkan?

Squeezed in the lap of the Western Ghats and the Arabian sea, every season in Konkan has something unique to offer. Summer is for exploring hidden beaches, water sporting, scuba, scenic mangrove boat safaris, fort trails, wild fruit trails, and more. Winter is for everything summer, plus a major mood for camps and a season of Jatras in Konkan. You get to witness the traditional Dashavtar live theatre in a Jatra. Monsoon is very underrated here. You could witness some of the best treks and waterfall trails in the monsoon. The Malvani cuisine also changes to adapt to seasonal variety and even the beaches hit different every season.

How much time before do we need to confirm the tour?

To make all the arrangements, we recommend a confirmation at least a week before travel.

Note that, in the tourism rush months of November, December, January, March, and April- stays may run out, and hence we need to plan the trip months earlier.
