Prepare for an unforgettable camping adventure with KTC as we ascend Rangana Fort, standing proudly at 2277 feet in the Sahyadri Mountains. This fort, built by King Bhoj of the Shilahar dynasty and fortified by Chattrapati Shivaji Maharaj, is a testament to human achievement in nature’s wild embrace.
Before we reach the fort, we’ll immerse ourselves in the vibrant tribal culture at Thakar Adivasi Kala Angan. Witness the traditions and artistry of the indigenous Thakar Adivasi community, adding a unique cultural dimension to our journey.
Join us as we explore the fort’s history, the scenic Sahyadri landscape, spine-chilling folk tales, and the enriching tribal culture of Sindhudurg district in Maharashtra. We are at just 25 Kms to the North of Goa!
Things to know:
Board an overnight train till Sawantwadi/Kudal [Book in advance, tickets run out]
If train is not available, there are multiple traveler buses running daily from Mumbai/Pune.
We are at 1 Hour from MOPA Airport, Goa.
And, 2 Hours from Belgaum Station.
Your first day here is meant to be relaxing and guess what? We are meeting a Padmashree awardee! Shri. Parshuram Gangavane has revived a unique ancient art form of the Thakar tribe. And, did you know that this art form actually aided Chatrapati Shivaji in his battles?!

Marvel at the unique Chitrakathi Art Gallery, where vibrant Chitrakathi Paintings come to life. You will also have the opportunity to browse and purchase souvenirs at the tribal store, supporting local artisans.
+ Conclude the day with a delightful vegetarian dinner, featuring a variety of flavorful dishes that highlight the culinary heritage of the region.
We'll be in Narur Village, nestled in the scenic valley of Rangna on the edge of the Western Ghats. This picturesque village is home to spine-chilling folktales of the past, which we'll delve into with the Sarnobat family, who are intricately tied to the village culture and the fort.

+ Tent Pitching: We will pitch our tents close to the Rangnai temple and the camping sheds created atop.
+ Sunset & Waterfall Trail: Lets set out for a breathtaking Sunset Trail. Witness the mesmerizing Rangana waterfall and the sun setting over the enchanting Konkan Valley from atop the fort
+ Village Style Cooking: Return to the campsite to begin preparations for a delightful dinner in the Camp Shed. A surprise menu awaits!

We pride upon the authentic Malvani cuisine, local hospitality, the comfort of homestays in our curated unique itineraries. We are a tourism company, but we are also more, as we are working to build a community whose connections exceed far beyond travel.
We mostly travel in our free time but with the kind of experiences we offer and to truly experience the beauty of Konkan, we would recommend freeing your time to travel with us. We offer weekend getaways as well as curated long tours.
Pre-designed tours are released but we primarily engage in private tours for groups. The best way to travel with us is to curate a trip for your group. Currently, all our experiences are available at throwaway prices for a time now.

Squeezed in the lap of the Western Ghats and the Arabian sea, every season in Konkan has something unique to offer. Summer is for exploring hidden beaches, water sporting, scuba, scenic mangrove boat safaris, fort trails, wild fruit trails, and more. Winter is for everything summer, plus a major mood for camps and a season of Jatras in Konkan. You get to witness the traditional Dashavtar live theatre in a Jatra. Monsoon is very underrated here. You could witness some of the best treks and waterfall trails in the monsoon. The Malvani cuisine also changes to adapt to seasonal variety and even the beaches hit different every season.
To make all the arrangements, we recommend a confirmation at least a week before travel.
Note that, in the tourism rush months of November, December, January, March, and April- stays may run out, and hence we need to plan the trip months earlier.
