Local Field Expert Programme

Welcome to the Local Field Expert program, created by Konkan Travel Club (KTC). Our program aims to create a network of knowledgeable and skilled individuals who can promote an understanding and appreciation of the environment. As a Local Field Expert, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience in conducting nature trails, interacting with people from diverse backgrounds, and promoting environmental conservation. Our program offers comprehensive training, certification, and compensation based on your performance. We believe that by creating a network of skilled and passionate field experts, we can leave a lasting impact on the people and places we encounter, as well as on the travel industry as a whole. Eligibility

Anyone passionate about learning & sharing about eco-tourism can participate.

Timings

Field Expert program spans over three months, with training sessions twice a week and a 4D3N program. Participants will attend lectures, workshops, and on-field sessions conducted by experts, university professors, and industry leaders.

Certification

A Field Expert certification will be awarded to participants upon undergoing a graded assessment. Performance benchmarks will be used to evaluate the performance of field experts during their sessions as field experts.

The Local Field Expert program has the potential to revolutionize local participation in ecotourism by addressing two important challenges- lack of relevant expertise and limited opportunities. KTC monitors the field expert network to ensure the safety and risk management practices are followed during nature trails, and to build trust and credibility with travelers. Verified experts can play a crucial role in promoting responsible tourism practices and enhancing the reputation of ecotourism in the Konkan region.

Certificate Course in Eco-tourism

Attention all learners and nature enthusiasts!

The Field Expert program is a component of the one-year Ecotourism Course offered by Konkan Travel Club in collaboration with Br. Balasaheb Khardekar College in Vengurla. Its a year long course, and admissions are now open until 01 Oct. This is an excellent opportunity for those interested in gaining knowledge and skills related to eco-tourism and adding skills to your Achievements! The admission fee for this course is 4000/- only.

Don’t miss out on this chance to enhance your understanding of eco-tourism and its role in promoting sustainable tourism practices. We are open to hire people who gain this certificate for managerial positions!

Role & Future of a Local Field Expert

A local field expert will be certified to provide a positive and memorable nature trail experience for travelers while promoting environmental conservation and cultural sensitivity. Here are some specific responsibilities of a local field expert:

Conducting Nature Trails: A local field expert is responsible for leading travelers on nature trails, pointing out the local flora and fauna, and interpreting the environment.
Ensuring Safety: A local field expert must ensure the safety of the travelers and themselves during the nature trail. This includes identifying potential risks and hazards, and taking steps to mitigate them.
Sharing Knowledge: A local field expert must have a deep understanding of the local environment, culture, and history, and be able to share this knowledge with travelers.
Promoting Conservation: A local field expert must promote environmental conservation by educating travelers about the importance of preserving the natural environment, and encouraging responsible tourism practices.
Providing Customer Service: A local field expert must provide excellent customer service to travelers, ensuring that their needs are met and that they have a positive and memorable experience.
Representing the Local Community: A local field expert represents the local community to travelers, promoting cultural sensitivity and respect for local traditions and customs.

Upon completion of the program, experts can conduct nature trails independently. However, KTC shall provide a platform for experts to conduct nature trails & will compensate on a per-session. This program offers a unique opportunity for individuals to connect with their environment, develop new skills, and contribute to their local communities while pursuing their education/occupation.

Once, the network is established we plan to work in unison to promote employment in eco-tourism and dream to create lucrative job opportunities in the field.
