Terms and Conditions

By booking or participating in a Konkan Travel Club (KTC) experience, you acknowledge and agree to the following terms and conditions.

1. Eligibility & Health

  • The participant must be 18 years of age or older (as of the date of the journey’s commencement) and fully competent to understand the Terms and Conditions. In case a participant is aged below 18 years, the guardian must sign a consent/waiver form & bears full responsibility of the said participant.
  • Participants are responsible for disclosing any medical conditions, injuries, allergies, dietary restrictions, disabilities, or treatments that may affect their participation in any activity. Failure to disclose relevant information may result in exclusion from certain activities or the experience without refund if participant safety is compromised.

2. Booking & Payments

  • A minimum advance payment of 50% is required to confirm participation unless otherwise specified.
  • The remaining balance must be paid at least 7 days prior to departure.
  • For bookings made within 7 days of departure, full payment is required.
  • Pricing may change without notice until a booking is confirmed.

3. Cancellations & Refunds

  • Cancellations and refunds shall be governed by KTC’s Refund Policy.
  • KTC reserves the right to cancel, postpone, modify, or reschedule any experience due to weather conditions, natural events, safety concerns, government regulations, operational limitations, insufficient participation, or any other unforeseen circumstances.

4. Nature of the Experience

  • Many KTC experiences involve travel through remote villages, forests, rivers, coastal areas, farms, mangroves, and uneven terrain.
  • Participants understand that outdoor travel and adventure activities involve inherent risks and agree to participate voluntarily and at their own discretion.

5. Safety & Conduct

  • Participants are expected to follow the instructions of KTC coordinators, guides, hosts, experts, and local resource persons at all times.
  • KTC reserves the right to remove any participant whose behaviour is unsafe, disruptive, abusive, intoxicated, discriminatory, or negatively impacts fellow participants, hosts, local communities, or the experience itself. No refund shall be applicable in such cases.

6. Medical Emergencies

  • Any costs arising from illness, injury, hospitalization, evacuation, transportation, medication, or emergency medical assistance shall be borne solely by the participant.
  • KTC does not provide travel or health insurance and strongly recommends participants obtain appropriate coverage where required.

7. Personal Belongings

  • Participants are solely responsible for their personal belongings, valuables, equipment, and luggage.
  • KTC shall not be liable for loss, theft, damage, or misplacement of personal property during the experience.

8. Respect for Communities & Environment

  • Participants are expected to respect local customs, cultural practices, private property, wildlife, natural habitats, and community spaces.
  • Littering, disturbance of wildlife, damage to property, or behaviour deemed disrespectful towards local communities may result in removal from the experience.

9. Itinerary Changes

  • While every effort is made to follow the published itinerary, routes, activities, accommodations, timings, meals, experts, and experiences may change due to weather, road conditions, local circumstances, safety considerations, or operational requirements.
  • Such changes shall not constitute grounds for refunds.

10. Photography & Media

  • Photographs and videos may be captured during KTC experiences for documentation, storytelling, promotional, and marketing purposes.
  • Participants who do not wish to appear in such content must inform KTC prior to the commencement of the experience.

11. Third-Party Services

  • KTC works with accommodation providers, transport operators, local hosts, activity providers, guides, and other third-party partners.
  • While KTC carefully selects its partners, it cannot be held responsible for delays, disruptions, accidents, losses, or service deficiencies arising from third-party providers.

12. Alcohol & Smoking

  • Alcohol consumption and smoking are permitted only where legally allowed and explicitly permitted by KTC.
  • Behaviour that compromises safety, local sensitivities, or the experience of other participants will not be tolerated.

13. Jurisdiction

  • Any disputes arising from participation in KTC experiences shall be subject to the jurisdiction of courts in Maharashtra.
